The all-new Tata Sierra has been able to make a strong comeback in the Indian market, achieving more than 70,000 bookings on the first day of booking. Beyond that, Tata Motors has received 1.35 lakh customer responses. Tata has attributed the sudden surge to the Sierra’s combination of nostalgia-inspired design, modern features, and multiple powertrain options. These features help it reach a larger demographic of buyers.
Upon the huge success that the Tata Sierra has witnessed in sales numbers, Vivek Srivastava, Senior Executive, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said,
“This response further strengthens the Sierra’s legacy and validates its role in creating the premium mid-SUV category.”
According to Tata, the new Sierra has been designed with a focus on improved space, comfort, safety, and everyday usability, while maintaining its unique identity.
The Sierra was launched on November 25, 2025. Its ex-showroom price starts at Rs 11.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 21.29 lakh, depending on variants and engine size. Deliveries of the SUV are expected to begin on January 15, and Tata is planning to increase production to meet the growing demand.
Power and Performance
Mechanically, the Sierra is powered by three engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel engine, a 1.5-litre TGDI Hyperion Turbo Petrol motor, and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The car competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Suzuki Vitara, and Volkswagen Taigun.
