For those who don't know, the company's Pune plant was scheduled to shut down for preventive maintenance and de-cluttering, resulting in a drop in production last month.
Interestingly, Tata Motors saw a massive growth of 158% in the EV (electric vehicle) segment over the same period last year. Currently, the company's EV product line includes three models – the newly launched Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Nexon EV.
In October 2022, Tata's domestic and international sales were 78,335 units, compared to 67,829 units in the same month in 2021. The company reported a 17% year-on-year increase in sales.
Tata Motors domestic sales of MH&ICVs (including trucks and buses) stood at 13,251 units as against 11,612 units in October 2021. Total MH&ICV sales for domestic and international business stood at 13,940 units as against 12,723 units in the same period last year.
Future plan of Tata Motors
The domestic automaker has planned several new models across various segments to be rolled out from early 2023. Reports suggest that the facelifted Tata Harrier will hit the roads early next year and the updated Safari will arrive by mid-2023.
The company will also expand its EV lineup with Tata Altroz EV and Punch EV, which are expected to be launched sometime next year. All the above models are likely to be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. The company will also showcase the pre-production version of the Tata Curvv Coupe mid-size SUV at the biennale.
