New Delhi: The Tata Safari facelift and Harrier facelift are currently undergoing testing. These SUVs have been spotted several times before. Both vehicles could be launched around the festive season. Most of the design changes will be inspired by the concept SUVs, making them more premium both inside and outside. Tata Motors has also patented some functional features such as the touch and toggle climate control panel.
New alloy wheels will be available. The Tata Safari facelift will come with new 18-inch alloy wheels featuring a 5-spoke design with slits and a flowing pattern between the spokes. These wheels look stylish and muscular. The recently spotted test model showcased these new alloy wheels, which are similar to the ones found on the Celtos, with dual-tone and all-black finishes.
Design expectations include fuller and aerodynamic alloy wheels seen in previous testing modules, which might be included in the Safari EV as well. The Safari facelift and Harrier facelift will feature a new fascia design with vertical headlights. It will also have a redesigned bumper, a wide LED DRL, and the new Tata logo on the central console.
In terms of powertrain options, the Safari facelift may receive a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. The interior is expected to receive several significant upgrades. With the new model, there might be various special editions available, including features like ADAS, a 360-degree camera, front and rear seat ventilation, leather upholstery, rear-seat entertainment package, and a panoramic sunroof. The current 2.0L turbo diesel engine will continue to be available, generating 168bhp/350 Nm of output. Additionally, a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine producing 170 bhp/280 Nm of output will be introduced. The price of this new model is expected to be Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 higher.
It will compete with the Mahindra XUV700. The new Safari will be available with a diesel and a petrol engine option, similar to the XUV700.
