New Delhi: Tata Motors has unleashed a game-changer in the Indian SUV market with the debut of its CNG-powered Tata Punch. This new contender is set to challenge not only the recently launched Hyundai Exter CNG but also the Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG. As the CNG SUV segment heats up, we dive into a head-to-head comparison of the Tata Punch iCNG and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG, exploring their specifications, features, and pricing.

Engine performance and Transmission

Under the hoods of these fuel-efficient SUVs, the Tata Punch CNG houses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 72.5 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque in CNG mode. In contrast, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG boasts a 1.2-liter four-cylinder powerplant that churns out 76 horsepower and 98.5 Nm of peak torque in CNG mode.
