New Delhi: Tata Motors has announced that the new Harrier and Safari SUVs will soon be introduced with upgraded technology and safety features. Both models will go on sale next month (ie March 2023). Ahead of their launch, the company has started accepting pre-bookings for the new Tata Harrier and Safari 2023 SUVs. However, there is no mention of the booking amount.

Features

The updated Harrier and Safari will come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) offering safety features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Road Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Alert and Distance Assist lights. The SUV will get a 360-degree camera, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument panel and a new 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The infotainment unit will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with voice commands in 6 languages. It will have a clean user interface with large and easy-to-read text. The new 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari will continue to offer a 9-speaker JBL audio system from Harman. The new semi-digital instrument console will have an analog tachometer on the left and fuel and temperature gauges on the right.

No changes will be made under the hood. The new Harrier and Safari will be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that pushes out a claimed 170bhp and 350Nm. The engine has been updated to meet BS6 II emission norms. The SUV will be offered with the same transmission options – 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. The driving modes have also been updated with the terrain response system ESP (Electronic Stability Program).

Price

In terms of pricing, the new Tata Harrier and Safari 2023 are expected to cost a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the existing model. While the Harrier is currently available in the price range of Rs 15 – 22.60 lakh, the Safari costs between Rs 15.65 – Rs 24.01 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
