New Delhi: Tata Nexon is one of the most important and best-selling models of the company. It is the best-selling sub-4 meter SUV in the segment. Now, the company is preparing to bring this SUV to the market in a new avatar. Recently, its facelift model was again spotted during testing.
Tata Motors will also introduce a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) unit with this model, which will offer a more refined driving experience than the current AMT automatic transmission. The first pictures of the Nexon facelift DCT have surfaced on the internet.
Tata Nexon Facelift DCT
Tata Motors is preparing a new DCT gearbox for its new Nexon, which will enhance the driving experience and give a more sporty feel. The transmission was hinted at from the earlier spotted model itself. However, now the same has been confirmed with the models spotted with the DCT badge. It is likely to be a 7-speed DCT unit. The previous spy shot also revealed a new fully digital instrument cluster on the SUV, which is an integrated touch layout unlike the new instrument screen found on the Safari and Harrier. The new DCT will be offered with its new 1.2L turbo petrol engine while the existing transmission will be retained with the 1.5L diesel engine.
Engine and Power
The outgoing model’s 1.2L petrol engine produces 120 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque, while the new engine will generate 5 bhp more power and 55 Nm more torque. The Tata Nexon facelift could get a sportier version like the Venue N Line with a new tune, in which the engine will generate 125 bhp of power and 225 Nm of torque.
Features
The front fascia will see massive changes. It is likely to get a new instrument screen with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Along with a new climate control panel, one-touch and toggle operation steering, a new logo, single-pane sunroof, front seat ventilation, automatic climate control, 5-star safety rating with connected car technology.
Will Compete with Maruti Brezza
This SUV will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine. It also has a CNG option.
