New Delhi: After the Dark and Kaziranga editions, Tata Motors has introduced the new Jet Edition series for the Nexon, Harrier and Safari SUVs. Prices for the Nexon Jet Edition start at Rs 12.13 lakh, while the Harrier and Safari start at Rs 20.90 lakh and Rs 21.35 lakh, respectively. The Jet Edition is based on the top-spec XZ+ SUV.
Like the previous special editions, the changes in the Jet Edition are mostly cosmetic along with some feature additions. Mechanically, the SUVs still remain the same. Here’s a closer look at the pricing of the Jet Edition models and what it brings to the Tata SUV line-up.
The new Tata Jet editions get a new color scheme
Common to all Jet Edition models is a new two-tone ‘Starlight’ paintwork with a bronze body and silver roof. In addition, the SUV will get black alloys and silver guards and front and rear. Inside, the Jet Edition models bring a new white and black two-tone scheme with new bronze trim and stitching.
Tata Safari and Harrier Jet editions get additional safety
In addition to the safety features offered on the XZ+ variant, the Jet Edition adds more active safety features to the Safari and Harrier range. New features include driver drowsiness warning, panic braking warning and post-collision braking.
It also gets other features like USB Type-C charger across all ranges, new headrests for the Safari and an electronic parking brake and all four disc brakes on the Harrier.
The Nexon’s Jet Edition upgrade isn’t as comprehensive as the Harrier and Safari, but Tata now offers a wireless charger with the SUV.
Tata Jet New Edition: No mechanical changes
The SUVs have the same power units under the hood as the standard model. The Nexon comes with a 120PS 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 110PS 1.5 diesel and both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or AMT.
The Harrier and Safari also continue with the 2.0-litre 170bhp diesel engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Tata doesn’t give its popular Nexons EV and Punch the Jet treatment. However, Nexon EVs are available with Dark Edition while Punch is available in Kaziranga Edition.
