Tata Harrier Facelift: Indian carmaker Tata Motors is about to launch a facelifted model of its mid-size SUV Harrier next year, whose testing has been started by the company. The facelifted spyshots of this SUV indicate that the car will get a blind spot camera. This shows that the cameras have been positioned in the wing mirrors of this new car. This indicates that the Tata Harrier facelifted SUV will be equipped with a 360-degree camera. Also, the Harrier facelift will also get high-end driving assistance technology, which is also being offered on the Mahindra XUV 700 and the upcoming Hyundai Tucson.
These will be premium features
ADAS will also be seen in the facelift version of this SUV from Tata. Mahindra uses this feature in its XUV700 SUV. The ADAS offers automatic emergency braking, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and driver dryness detection. The Harrier Facelift will get the existing 2 L Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and torque converter automatic gearbox. The facelift model may also get the option of a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. However, Tata Motors has not disclosed any information about the new turbo petrol engine.
These cars will compete
The cars of Tata Motors have a good hold in the Indian market and they are selling well. The company’s Harrier and Safari have made their place in the mid-size SUV space. The Harrier facelift will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Alcazar, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV 700 and MG Hector in this segment.
