Tata has been thoroughly testing the new EV Harrier Before launch, the vehicle has been spotted while testing several times. The vehicle has been spotted several times and has been rumored to have Tata’s new electric all wheel drive setup that can help the users off-road the vehicle.
A prototype of the vehicle was also showcased at the recent Baharat Mobility Expo and its possible that the vehicle might soon be up for launch in India. Even after showcasing a prototype Tata has been using a heavy camouflage to hide the new design of the vehicle.
Tata Harrier EV
The New Harrier would go against the likes of Mahindra Xev 9e and would be probably priced aggressively to be able to gain a stake in the market. The Test mule was spotted and reported by Rushlane and as per them the vehicle was spotted somewhere in and around Okhla. The front fascia had been fully covered with a camouflage, a practice not common with ICE vehicles as the inlet need an incoming current of compressed air to work well. Hence its apparent that the vehicle was a EV.

Specs And Performance
The vehicle marks a paradigm shift in the overall genesis of the electric vehicles in India. As this could be one of the first vehicles to be offered with a twin motor setup. While the overall specs of the vehicle have not been revealed as of yet its possible that the vehicle might have a torque of around 500 nm. To be capable of carrying around the massive weight of the battery pack as well as the rear mounted motor for AWD.
Earlier Harrier EV Spotting On The Race Track
The Harrier is not exactly the vehicle that belongs on a race track, often such cars are witnessed while being tested on the highways. But the new EV version of the Tata Harrier EV would possibly have a AWD system that would give it a lot more performance credentials than the outgoing model.
Tata has a unique EV architecture that allows them to mount the battery packs down low in the car chassis giving the vehicle a low center of gravity. Such a low center of gravity helps the vehicle perform better and have a balanced drive. The low center of gravity along with the instantaneous torque of the EV motors would give the car the ability to function well.
The Dual Motor Setup
The perfromance spec of the vehicle is expected to be quite higher than any existing Harrier EV. Tata has been planning to launch a significant competitor to any of the EV’s currently available in the market. As per speculations the car would be able to go against the likes of XEV9e which boasts a performance spec of around 268 PS and 380 NM of Torque. The XEV 9 only has a single motor that powers the rear wheels.
Along with a powerful dual motor setup the vehicle would be provided with a sophisticated multilink suspension in the rear along with a MacPherson Strutt in the front. Tata has imagined to provide the market with a vehicle like no other. Asper the speculated news it has also been established that the vehicle would have new sophisticated terrain response system with upto six modes this time around.
New Terrain Response system and Modes
The vehicle would have new rotary dial to choose between different terrain response systems and other modes that would allow the vehicle the easily drive along some of the most toughest terrains. The vehicle would have modes such as Normal, Snow, Mud&Ruts and Sand and Desert.
