Tata Harrier EV Spotted Before Launch! Here’s How Different The EV Harrier Would Be From The Conventional SUV

The Much Anticipated Harrier EV is all set to break cover on June 3rd, the car was spotted testing undisguised, and it is possible that the car might be in the final leg of its testing run. The Harrier EV would be positioned above the Curvv EV in the Tata lineup, and the car would be based on the same Acti-EV platform. With the launch of the car slotted for June 3  buyers seeking a mid size EV SUV would be able to choose between the Creta EV, Suzuki E -Vitara as well as the Tata Harrier EV. 

Harrier EV Design – Another Harrier In Disguise

In terms of styling the Harrier EV is quite similar to the ICE Harrier, apart from the sealed grill upfront and new design aesthetics the car most of the exterior panels seem similar to that of the conventional Harrier.  The Connected DRL’s give the front fascia a nice and modern look and finish. Beyond these changes the car has an aggressive design that makes it appear sharp and aggressive.

Harrier EV New Changes Over The Normal Harrier 

The Harrier EV has been spotted a few times, and in one of these instances the rear suspension of the vehicle was slightly visible. The car was supposedly being tested with a new Independent suspension at the rear. Such suspension would help the vehicle get a better ride quality. Beyond that the Harrier EV would be equipped with a rear motor as well that would give the car a all wheel drive capability.  While it has not been confirmed, but its possible that the AWD capability would only be available in a single flagship variant. THe feature probably would not be available across variants. 

New Harrier EV Powertrain 

While Tata has not revealed the power output and the battery capacity of the vehicle. The Harrier EV would get a dual motor setup, with an electric motor strapped to the rear axle. Rumours, leaks and media reports have revealed that the EV powertrain would help the vehicle achieve a 500 Nm of peak torque and an overall range of 500 Km.

Price And Rivals 

The Tata Harrier EV is likely to retail from around Rs 25 Lakh. The car would go against the likes of Mahindra XEV9e and BYD Atto 3. Tata would have to price the vehicle in a competitive manner to ensure that the vehicle does not succumb to the competition raised by Hyundai Creta EV and Suzuki E-Vitara.
