Electric Vehicle Sale: Tata Motors created a milestone of selling 1 lakh electric four-wheelers within the country. The company is the market leader in the segment with over 80% market share, which comprises Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV models of the vehicle manufacturing giant.
The Company is planning to bring the EV model of Altroz and Punch. However, Nexon EV is the best-selling EV of the company, but in the last quarter sales of Tiago EVs have been the highest.
Tata Motors started the electric mobility journey in 2020 with the Nexon EV. Next, the company launched Tigor EV and then Tiago EV was introduced. Among these models, Nexon EV and Tiago EV have been the most successful. As per data, the company has so far sold 50,000 units of the Nexon EV and 20,000 units of the Tiago EV.
Tiago tops the sales last quarter
The electric vehicle market has seen more customers during Q2 of this year i.e. April to June. Tata’s best-selling Nexon electric car was left behind by the company’s own small hatchback Tiago EV during the period. During Q2 2023, more than 10 thousand units of Tiago EV were sold. Whereas for Nexon EV this figure was 5 thousand units.

- Kia EV6 – 279 units
- Hyundai Kona EV -159 units
