Skoda Kylaq: Skoda’s sub 4m SUV, the Kylaq, is officially unveiled on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The Kylaq is placed below the Kushaq in India. In India, the Kylaq comes under Skoda’s ‘India 2.5’ strategy. Kylaq is the carmaker’s debut in the compact SUV segment. This sub-compact SUV will reportedly be available for sale in Indian market from the early 2025. The Kylaq is the Sanskrit term for ‘crystal’.

“We want to become No 1 European car in India in the mid-term,” said Skoda Auto chairman, Klaus Heller, during the launch.

- The Kylaq also gets Brake Disc Wiping, Electronic Differential Lock, Passenger Airbag Deactivation, Multi-Collision Braking, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
- Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1-litre three cylinders turbocharged petrol engine. Kylaq delivers 114 hp and 178 Nm of torque.
- The Skoda Kylaq’s length is 3,995mm, along with a 2,566mm long wheelbase and a ground clearance of 189mm.
Pricing & Booking Details
The company priced the Kylaq from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The production of the car will start in December 2024 with bookings starting from December 2. The company will start customer deliveries from January 27, 2025.
Competitors
The Kylaq is set to rival Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV3XO, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet among others.
