Skoda is ready to launch its entry-level SUV in India The Kylaq which will slot below the Kushaq, the automaker confirmed. The Skoda Kylaq will be an all-new product from the automaker in India under its ‘India 2.5’ strategy and will be the automaker’s debut at the compact SUV segment. This subcompact SUV is set to be launched in India in early 2025 and make its global debut on November 6. Reports suggest that Skoda is looking at an annual production count of 50,000-70,000 units. Skoda haven’t still unveiled the full design of the car, but here it is what to expect:-
Skoda Kylaq: Features and Design
- Kylaq will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the third product of the company on this platform.
- Kylaq will have design similarities with the Kushaq and will feature split LED lighting setup and L-shaped LED tail lights.
- Inside, it will likely get a Kushaq-inspired cabin along with Skoda’s 2-spoke steering wheel, 10.1-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, and sunroof.
- The Kylaq is also expected to get an 8 inch fully digital driver’s display, automatic AC, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, and a single-pane sunroof.
- Its safety features will likely include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking camera, and rear parking sensors.
- It might also get a full 360 degree camera and the Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
- The car is also expected to be powered by 1-litre turbo petrol engine with 6 speed manual transmission or 6 speed automatic transmission.
Expected Price and Rivals
- According to some reports, the base model of the Kylaq is expected to be priced from Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Apart from this the car will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO as well as the sub 4m crossovers like Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.
