New Delhi: An electric two-wheeler start-up Simple Energy launched its electric scooter in the country last month. The company launched this EV at an initial price of Rs. 1.45 lakh. The Simple One electric scooter has been delivered to the first group of customers in Bengaluru. The company says that deliveries of the EV will begin very soon in other cities in a phased manner.
The Simple One electric scooter was first unveiled in August 2021. The company has taken a little less than two years to roll out the production variant. Simple One has received more than one lakh bookings since its inception and has set up a plant in Tamil Nadu with a production capacity of 1 million units per annum.
A 5 kWh battery pack is available for this electric scooter. It covers 212 km on a single charge. Offers a range of It generates 11.3 bhp of power and 72 Nm of peak torque from its PMS motor. The Simple One is the fastest electric scooter, capable of 0–40 kmph in 2.77 seconds and has a top speed of 105 kmph.
Speaking on the start of deliveries, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, said, “We are excited to commence deliveries of Simple One, starting with customers in Bengaluru. This model comes with a 750-watt charger. It can be charged from 0 to 80 percent with a standard charger in 5 hours and 54 minutes. Simple Energy plans to expand its retail sales to 40–50 cities through 160–180 dealerships in the future.
