Shanghai Motor Show 2023: Honda introduced three all-electric SUVs at the Shanghai Motor Show 2023. All three SUVs are in production and will be available for purchase in China first.
- Honda EV SUVs were developed in partnership with two partners.
- Dongfeng and Honda collaborated on the e:NS1 SUV line.
- GAC collaborates with Honda to produce the e:NP1 lineup.
Honda Electric SUV Lineup Preview
The e:NS2 and e:NP2 will be the first to enter production, a pair of EV SUVs meant to replace the HR-V-based e:NS1 and e:NP1 vehicles that have been on sale in China since last year.
The only difference between the current models is the colour of their charging ports and grilles: the Dongfeng-built e:NS1 is body coloured, while the GAC-built e:NP1 is black. The modification will make the twin models more distinguishable by providing them with distinct front lighting characteristics.

The e:NS2 has angular LED daytime running lights similar to the Peugeot model, while the e:NP2 gets a design comparable to the latest-generation Honda cars marketed overseas, such as the new Civic.
Honda has stated that both new vehicles will be available for purchase in China by early 2024. Following that, it will be launched in further markets. It was stated that there is little chance of significant change in the mechanics of e:NS1 and e:NP1. The official range of 500km may be improved slightly, as could the two motor alternatives with power outputs of 182hp and 213hp.
