New Delhi: After the launch of Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield is all set to launch the fourth model of the 650 series in India soon.
It will probably be called the Shotgun 650.
In the latest development, the test mule of the upcoming motorcycle was almost ready for production and test rides in a camouflaged avatar.
Features
Taking design cues from the Super Meteor 650, the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will feature a teardrop fuel tank, wide handlebars, split seats, dual peashooter exhausts, circular LED headlamp and round LED tail lamp.
The bobber will have a semi-digital instrument panel and ride on alloy wheels.
Upon launch, it will be offered with several factory-designed accessories.
Safety
In terms of rider safety, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will feature disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better braking performance.
Bobber suspension should be handled by inverted forks up front and twin pre-load shocks at the rear end.
Engine
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be powered by the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine from the Super Meteor 650. The mill churns out a maximum power of 47bhp and a peak torque of 52Nm. The engine is likely to be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Will the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 be successful?
Pricing and availability details of the upcoming Shotgun 650 will be revealed by Royal Enfield at its India launch sometime in the coming months.
We believe the bobber-style bike will slot in between the Continental GT 650 and Super Meteor 650 in the bike maker’s lineup.
The bike is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs. 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
