New Delhi: The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the brand’s first RE bike based on the J platform in India, followed by the Classic 350 and the Hunter 350. Now, the company plans to launch more models supporting the J architecture, including the new generation Bullet 350 and a new bobber. Rumor has it that the upcoming new RE 350cc bobber might be called the Royal Enfield Shotgun 350.

It will be based on the Classic 350 with ape suspension handlebars and a single seat. The bike will also have a small hood over the headlight, a wire spoke wheel, a long exhaust and a cantilever rider seat. To distinguish itself from the RE Classic 350, the motorcycle manufacturer will equip a differently designed tail lamp.

The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 will use a 346cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine borrowed from the Meteor 350. The engine delivers a claimed power of 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque.

The bobber will have a 5-speed gearbox to handle the shifting duties. Its suspension setup will include conventional telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be handled by front and rear disc brakes. It will also be offered with rear drum brakes. The Shotgun 350 will be equipped with single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard.

Once launched, the new Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 will go head-to-head against the Jawa 42 Bobber and the Jawa Pérák. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). The official timetable for the launch of the model is not yet known.

As of now, the company is gearing up to launch the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, which made its India debut in Goa. It will be offered in two variants – Standard and Tourer – which are expected to be priced around Rs 3.5- to 4-million. The bike will be powered by an air-oil cooled 648cc parallel twin engine producing 47bhp and 52Nm.
