As the electric vehicle (EV) segment expands, Hyundai gears up to introduce the EV version of its popular car, the Creta. Reports from Auto Car India suggest a possible mid-2024 debut, with price revelations expected in early 2025. Positioned to rival cars like the MG ZS EV and Maruti eVX, this five-seater from the South Korean giant promises a bolder and more robust front design than its predecessor.
Power Source: A 45 kWh Battery
Sources indicate the Hyundai Creta EV might be equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack, complemented by a robust 138 hp motor. The anticipated range for this electric marvel when fully charged could reach up to 415 km. Currently, Hyundai’s Kona and Ioniq 5 EV models are available in the market. Reports hint at a futuristic headlight design and a rear with a lengthy light strip, although the company has yet to officially unveil details about the car’s aesthetics and features. The refreshed 2024 Hyundai Creta version is slated for launch on January 16.
Dual Battery Options for Enhanced Performance
The 2024 Hyundai Creta EV is expected to offer two battery packs, potentially topping at 60 kWh. Industry whispers suggest a starting ex-showroom price of around Rs 25 lakh. Comparatively, the MG ZS EV, a competitor to Hyundai’s new offering, is priced at Rs 22.88 lakh ex-showroom, boasting a driving range of up to 461 kilometers with a 50.3 kWh battery pack, generating 173 bhp power and 280 Nm torque. Both cars accommodate five passengers.
Competing with the Future
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX, slated for a 2025 debut, is anticipated to sport a potent 60kWh battery pack, ensuring a remarkable 550 km driving range on a single charge. Safety features are expected to include six airbags, an advanced driver assistance system, hill hold assist, and a front charging point. The car is likely to boast a touchscreen infotainment system with a digital display, a 360-degree camera, and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel for a futuristic driving experience.
