The Filante has been penned down by the eminent car designer Gordon Murray early in the last decade. The inspiration for the car dates back to cars such as the 1925 40 CV des records as well as the 1956 Etoile Filante.
While the earlier cars were build to focus on speed and endurance , the Renault Filante Record 2025 is designed to set efficiency records.
One of the most stand out feature of the Filante would be the 2,200 pound weight. The reason behind the weight has been the massive battery that would weigh around 1,332 pounds. This could be achieved by a cell to pack battery design and a light weight carbon fiber casing.
To help the vehicles massive size loose as much resistance as possible Renault has asked Michelin to provide for the car a completely specific 19 inch wheels. These tyres would help deliver a flatter contact patch. Even after the size of the car as per Renault the rolling resistance would be about 40 % lower than the conventional car tire.
No details about the power as well as the powertrain of the ne concept have been revealed by Renault.
