New Delhi: Land Rover’s new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have received an impressive 5-star rating in the latest round of Euro NCAP safety tests. Out of the 16 cars tested, only one did not receive a 5-star rating. Among which was Tesla Model S, Honda Civic and Isuzu D-Max.
Range Rover Euro NCAP 2022 test results
The Range Rover scored 84 percent in the adult passenger test, scoring 32.1 out of 38 points, and 87 percent in the child passenger test with a score of 43 out of 49 points.
It scored 82 percent in safety system tests and scored 13.2 out of 16 points. However, the Range Rover 2022 scored 72 percent in the vulnerable road user tests, scoring 39.1 points out of 54.
Range Rover Sport Euro NCAP test results for 2022
Euro NCAP also tested the Range Rover Sport and the results were similar to the new Range Rover. It scored 85 percent in the adult passenger test, scoring 32.4 out of 38.
In the child passenger test, it scored 85 percent by scoring 42 out of 49 points, while the safety systems test scored 82 percent after scoring 13.2 out of 16. The new Range The Rover Sport achieved a slightly lower 69 per cent in the vulnerable road user tests, scoring 37.5 out of 54.
Nissan X-Trail Euro NCAP test results
The India-bound fourth generation Nissan X-Trail was also included in the recent round of testing. It scored 91 percent in adult passenger tests, scoring 34.7 out of 38 points, and 90 percent in child passenger tests with 44.3 points out of 49.
In safety systems tests, it scored an impressive 95 percent, scoring 15.2 points out of 16, while in in tests of vulnerable road users, it scored only 38.2 points out of 54, which means 70 percent. Although the model tested was with a left-hand drive unit, the rating also applies to the right-hand drive version.
Other cars tested by Euro NCAP this round
Safety tests were also conducted on 13 other vehicles, including Tesla Model S, new Honda Civic, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Nio ET7 EV, Smart #1 EV, WEY Coffee 02, Nissan Ariya, DS 9, Renault Austral, Toyota Corolla Cross, Toyota bZ4X, Subaru Solterra and Isuzu D-Max Crew Cab.
All models received a 5-star safety rating, except for the DS 9; it scored 79 percent in the adult passenger test, 86 percent in the child passenger test, 67 percent in the vulnerable road user test and 67 percent in the safety system test.
