Porsche, the epitome of luxury and performance, has introduced its second electric marvel – the all-new electric Macan. Enthusiasts can choose between the 408hp Macan 4 and the formidable 639hp Macan Turbo. In India, bookings for the Macan Turbo have commenced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.65 crore, with deliveries slated for the second half of 2024. Pricing details for the Macan 4 variant in India are yet to be disclosed.
Porsche Macan EV Turbo – Transition to Full Electric Line-up
The electric Macan will share showroom space with its petrol-powered counterpart until the end of 2025, marking a transitional phase. Post-2025, Porsche’s Macan line-up will be exclusively electric, aligning with the automotive industry’s evolving landscape.
Platform Collaboration with Audi
Developed alongside the Audi Q6 E-tron, the electric Macan utilizes the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, sharing crucial components with its Audi counterpart. This collaboration enhances the electric Cayenne’s upcoming release, ensuring cutting-edge technology and performance.

Deviating from the original Macan design, the electric version incorporates Taycan-inspired aesthetics. Notable features include rectangular headlights and a striking LED rear light bar. The sleek silhouette and retractable spoiler contribute to an aerodynamic profile, signaling a departure from the first-generation Macan.
Luxurious Interior Redefined
The interior mirrors the current Cayenne’s style, offering up to three digital displays, including a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. An additional 10.9-inch touchscreen for the passenger allows video streaming and control adjustments. The revised layout relocates the gear selector, optimizing space for cupholders and a smartphone charging pad.

Equipped with dual permanent synchronous motors, the Macan 4 generates 408hp and 650Nm, propelling it from 0-100kph in 5.2 seconds. The Macan Turbo, boasting 639hp and 1,130Nm for brief overboost periods, accelerates from 0-100kph in an impressive 3.3 seconds. Both models showcase Porsche’s commitment to electrified performance.
Advanced Battery Technology and Charging Capability
The Macan’s 95kWh battery supports fast charging at up to 270kW on an 800V DC system, achieving a 10-80 percent charge in just 21 minutes. Regenerative braking allows recuperation of up to 240kW of electric energy. The WLTP ranges stand at 613km for the Macan 4 and 591km for the Macan Turbo, emphasizing efficiency and practicality.

The Macan 4 features steel suspension with twin-valve dampers, while the Macan Turbo adopts a more sophisticated air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and variable electronic damping control. Both variants offer optional rear steering, a first for the Macan, with a maximum steering angle of 5-deg, providing an impressive 11.1m turning circle.
