Hyundai has initiated the development of their new Creta third generation model, Plans to launch the new iteration in 2027 have been disclosed. While no substantial details have been revealed by the brand itself, it has only become apparent that the development of the new Creta Generation would be codenamed SX3 for internal company use.
Beyond that its possible that the vehicle might be powered by the already existing 115hp, 1.5 litre petrol engine. The engine produces about 160 bhp. Beyond that the new gen could be powered by either a 1.5 litre direct injection turbo Petrol or a 1.5 litre diesel engine.
Possibility Of A Hybrid
Its possible that the new version of the Creta might be launched with a Hybrid Powertrain as well. This can possibly lead the new Creta Hybrid to be the first Hybrid model from the Korean Manufacturer. The launch of the new SUV would be slated after the unveil of the Hyundai Ni1i SUV.
The Ni1i SUV would be slotted between the Alcazar as well as the Tucson. The Hybris version would be powered by a 1.5 litre engine with a EV motor that would power the vehicle.
The car would be offered with new and improved safety features as well as ADAS level 2 safety features that would make it one of the formidable SUV’ choices in India. The Electric version of the SUV has already been instilled with some of the improved features and hence its possible that the new features would soon find their place on the next gen Hyundai Creta.
Possible Facelift For The Creta Electric
Its possible that by 2027 Hyundai also plans to give their new vehicle a mid life facelift. No details about the new facelift have been revealed by the brand. The Hybrid powertrain would possibly become a new choice for the users. The Possibility of the new Hybrid powertrain is further confirmed by the trials of the new KIA Seltos Hybrid in international markets.
KIA Seltos Hybrid version was seen testing under a heavy camouflage by Healer Tv recently. The introduction of the new HYBRID version could possibly be a new addition that would bring newer customers to the vehicle platform. Or the HYBRID system could be like the Ford’s Range Extender system in which the small petrol engine is used just to extend the range to help the EV vehicle go farther.
Specs As per Global Models
As per the specs of the new model that would soon be launched in the global markets the specs would involve a gasoline as well as a Hybrid engine option. The Hybrid Option would churn out a peak power figure of 141 Hp, that would be similar to that of the Hyundai Kona. Beyond that it also appears that KIA is developing a new all time Four Wheel Drive EV system for the Seltos Hybrid.
The New system is being purposefully built for the European market, where there is a strong preference for the four wheel drive vehicles. The New E-AWD system would allow the vehicle to perform much more aggressively and enhance Sestos’s appeal in the international markets.
Possible Launch In India
As of yet there have been no news about the possible launch of the new vehicle in India, KIA itself has not announced any details about launching the new generation of the KIA Seltos. But since the vehicle has been witnessed in a production spec guise ready for use, along with the rumor’s of Hyundai Creta Hybrid launch slated in future KIA Seltos Hybrid might soon follow.
