Tata Motors has released the first official teaser for the all-new Sierra, confirming its market debut on November 25, 2025. The revival of the legendary nameplate means that the new Sierra will slot between the Tata Curvv and the Harrier in Tata’s SUV lineup. The SUV will be available in both EV and ICE powertrains, with the latter arriving first.
According to media reports, the brand is working on multiple iterations of the 1.5-litre engine family, including a naturally aspirated petrol engine and turbocharged TGDi petrol and diesel units. The new turbo motor is expected to deliver around 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
It’s possible that the EV version of the Sierra will be based on the Harrier EV. Two battery pack configurations are expected, with the larger one capable of delivering over 500 km of range. Fast-charging and bidirectional charging capabilities will also be offered.
Tata has ensured that the new Sierra has been designed to retain the distinctive character of the original model. Achieving high structural strength while maintaining a spacious glasshouse has likely been a design challenge. The new SUV features squared wheel arches, a prominent LED light bar at the rear, and split headlamps at the front.
Interior Updates
The new dashboard layout features three individual displays. The cabin is expected to use premium materials, including a dual-tone interior, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, and a Harman audio system.
Safety Features
Based on the safety package offered in other Tata vehicles, the Sierra will likely come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, six airbags, and electronic stability control (ESC). Additionally, it will offer multiple drive and terrain modes for enhanced capability.
