New Maruti Dzire VS Honda Amaze: Battle Of The Favourite Compact Sedans – Which One To Buy?

Both the compact sedans are now ruling the hearts of the Indian consumers for quite some time now. Here is the comparison between the favourite compact sedans among the Indian buyers, New Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze.

New Maruti Dzire

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is making waves in the Indian market with its impressive 5-star rating for adult occupant safety and a solid 4-star score for child occupant safety, by Global NCAP. The new Dzire makes history with a Maruti Suzuki’s first ever perfect 5-star Global NCAP rated car. Maruti Dzire’s next-gen model is going to get launched in India on November 11 and the bookings are now open with Rs 11,000.

Notably, Honda Cars India is all set to launch the third-generation Amaze in December 2024. The eagerly awaited compact sedan is set to boast numerous styling enhancements.

New Maruti Dzire Vs Honda Amaze: Powertrain

The New Maruti Dzire will be powered by an 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit. This will produce 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. Maruti Dzire will be offered with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).

The Honda Amaze will be equipped with 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that generates 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Honda will offer Amaze with a five-speed manual and a CVT transmission. 

New Maruti Dzire VS Honda Amaze: Dimensions

The New Dzire will be 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,525mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Maruti will offer the new car with an unladen ground clearance of 163 mm.

While, not much is known about the dimension of the new Honda Amaze, but the current generation of Amaze is 3,995mm long, 1,695mm wide, and 1,501mm tall. The car has a wheelbase of 2,470mm.

Safety Ratings

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire secured a perfect 5-star rating for adult occupant safety and a solid 4-star score for child occupant safety, by Global NCAP. 

The New Honda Amaze is not yet rated by the Global NCAP. However, the old model of the Honda amaze which was tested under the latest Global NCAP protocols received two stars for adult safety and zero stars for child occupant protection.

Price Comparison

The Maruti is expected to keep the starting price of the new Dzire at Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The current generation of the Honda Amaze is priced between Rs. 7.20 lakh to Rs. 9.96 lakh. However, the latest update might come at a competitive price.
