New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has just given the hot-selling new Brezz an update that not only new buyers but also existing owners of the sub-4 meter compact SUV will love. The new Brezza just got wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system.
In other words, the new Brezza will also get turn-by-turn navigation for Head-Up Display and Multi-Information Display. While the new features will be pre-programmed on the Brezza compact SUV produced from December 2022 onwards, existing owners can also benefit from downloading the Over-The-Air (OTA) update available on the Maruti Suzuki website.
Alternatively, they can also ask their nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer for the update, which will be downloaded to the Brezzas’ touchscreen infotainment unit for free.
Before this update, the SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system offered on the new Maruti Brezza needed a cable to connect the smartphone to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. With the latest update, the cable has been removed, making connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seamless. In the future, expect this update on all Maruti Suzuki cars that have the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system.

Brezza with CNG drive: Coming soon!
Coming back to the new Brezza, the second generation model is bigger than the outgoing version and also looks quite substantial thanks to the new design language. More than ever before, the new Brezza is available with the 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine as standard, with a petrol-CNG variant coming soon for those looking for lower running costs.
When running on petrol, the 1.5 liter K15C engine produces 100 hp – 137 Nm and on CNG 87 hp – 122 Nm. The official launch of the CNG powered Maruti Brezza is just around the corner. The Brezza CNG has already started making its way to Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships across the country and the official specifications of the SUV are already available.
It is only a matter of time before the prices are announced which are likely to be around Rs. 30,000 more expensive than equivalent petrol variants. This will make the Brezza CNG quite affordable and a great alternative to a diesel SUV.
Another notable feature of the Brezza CNG is the fact that the SUV will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter – the same transmissions offered on the petrol engine. With this move, Maruti Suzuki has given CNG SUV buyers an automatic transmission option for the first time.
A powerful hybrid is also in the works
The new Maruti Brezza is likely to get a powerful hybrid petrol engine in the future. Maruti Suzuki already offers a performance hybrid on the Grand Vitara – an SUV that stands above the Brezza in terms of price and positioning.
The automaker also noted that the powerful petrol hybrid will soon be available in a number of new cars including the new generation Swift and Dzire. So it’s only a matter of time before the new Brezza also gets a powerful hybrid variant. The current Brezza is offered with a mild hybrid petrol engine.
