New Delhi: To strengthen its position in India, Jeep is about to expand its SUV portfolio with its new product. Although the company has not yet revealed the name and details of its upcoming models, but the news is that Jeep may enter the most competitive mid-size SUV segment. For this, the Jeep Avenger SUV, which had its world premiere recently, will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in India.
How is the engine?
The new Jeep SUV will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is also found in the Citroen C3 hatchback. It gets manual gearbox. Front-wheel drive system has been given in it. There is also a mild hybrid version available with a 54kWh battery pack made from Stellantis, which is capable of producing 156 bhp power and 260 Nm torque.
How is the look?
The Avenger SUV will be built on the modular CMP platform. The SUV also gets the brand’s signature seven-slot grille, slim LED DRLs, black body cladding, bold shoulder crease and X-shaped LED lights along with squared-off taillamps and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Features
The new Jeep SUV has a minimal theme inside the cabin. It will get a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, rectangular AC vents integrated into the dashboard, ambient lighting, dual zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, rain sensing wipers and many more features.
Electric version will get 400 km range
Jeep Avenger will be able to give a range of up to 400 km on a single charge in the electric version. In both petrol and electric versions, this SUV will get Selec Terrain off-road modes, which include modes like Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow and Mud.
Will compete with Maruti Grand Vitara?
This mid-size SUV of Maruti is being well-liked in the country. It gets a 1.5L petrol engine with mild hybrid and strong hybrid technology. Along with this, many features are also available in it. This car gives a mileage of 27 kmpl.
