A new undercover EV being charged has led the Auto World Awry, several reports that have expressed about the sighting have been alleging that the car was an EV version of the Alcazar EV. While a few other reports have suggested that the car would be a KIA’s new EV Carens. With the car being under a full body cover, no intrinsic details or emblems were visible. The cover was tied along the bonnet of the vehicle to further ensure that the users do not get a peak as to which car is being tested under disguise.
But the car seems like that of a 3-row MPV with the footprint of a SUV. The car was seen with Tamil Nadu Number plates and a front-mounted charging port which confirmed its EV nature. The speculations have further assured that the car might be a EV Hyundai Alcazar, EV version of the Creta Electric or a Carens EV.
Is It a Carens EV
The overall footprint of the vehicle seems to be too similar to that of the KIA Carens EV. KIA has been planning to increase their EV line up, and it has been alleged that the brand would also be launching the all new KIA Syros EV. Ruslane has reported that the car is a EV version of the Carens. Going by the rims that were seen on previous test mules its possible that the car might be a Carens EV. Beyond that the front charging port that was similar to that of the Hyundai Creta EV.
What To Expect
It’s possible that the car might be launched with a 42 KWH pack for a claimed range of around 390Km on single charge. And further the car might also be offered with a 51.4 KWH pack for claimed 473 km on a single charge. Peak power of the car might be around 170Bhp and peak torque would be around 255Nm for a Single motor driving the front wheels.
