After updating the MG Windsor EV range with a launch of the Pro variants earlier this year, the company has recently teased a new limited edition of its best-selling EV ahead of a full reveal that is expected to be happen later this month. The car is expected to be updated with cosmetic updates rather than any kind of mechanical changes. Such a change would establish renewed attention for the brand in the middle of the festive season, a prime selling season.
The teaser image that has been posted by the brand showcases the Windsor silhouette against a backdrop of an aircraft hangar. It’s likely that the new variant might be called the MG Windsor EV Inspire. The new variant would probably be based on the top-spec variant of the Windsor Essence Pro.
Exterior and Interior Updates
The exterior changes would be done to help the vehicle stand apart. Expect a tweaked front fascia and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The new variant is also expected to feature a gold accent on the grille along with a badge and possible exclusive paint options.
The new special edition might get new upholstery, revised stitching, different seat fabric or patterns, and gold inlays for the dashboard and door trim. The new variant is expected to get additional features such as driver assistance, infotainment features, and other connected features.
Specifications and Mechanicals
The car will retain the Windsor EV Essence Pro’s powertrain. The car will retain the 52.9 kWh prismatic LFP battery paired with an electric motor producing 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. With such specs, the vehicle is able to deliver a range of 449 km. The limited edition model will retain the Pro variant’s charging capabilities with 60 kW DC fast charging and support V2L and V2V functions. The new model will retain the Level 2 ADAS features as well.
The new variant will only have cosmetic upgrades without any mechanical enhancements.
