New Delhi: British vehicle manufacturer MG Motors has launched its new electric car Maxus 9 EV in Thailand. This car was displayed in India at the 2023 Auto Expo under the name Maxus Mifa 9. Maxus is the name of the manufacturer who made Mifa 9. In Thailand, MG has adopted the company name as the name of the model.

How much is the price?

MG Maxus 9 EV Launched in Thailand Barring the branding, the Maxus Mifa 9 and the MG Maxus 9 are identical in every way. MG has priced it at 2,499 million THB for the base X trim and 2,699 million THB for the top-spec V trim. That is, according to India, its price is 60 lakh to 65 lakh rupees. How is this car?

The length of MG Maxus 9 is 5,270 mm, width 2000 mm and height 1,840 mm. It is a fully electric mini-van with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm, automatic sliding doors and a host of features. MG will introduce the Mifa 7 in India instead.

Interior

Owing to its minivan body style, it gets an impressive greenhouse design and is quite spacious on the inside. The dashboard houses two iPad-like displays with rounded corners, one for the instrumentation and the other for the driver’s display. Massage and ventilated seats are available in the front. MG has integrated the AC controls in a touch-sensitive panel below the infotainment screen. There are captain seats in the second row, calf rests on both seats, separate armrests and cup holders, separate wireless charging pads and separate digital displays. There is a single-pane sunroof for the front passenger and a panoramic sunroof for the second and third row. It includes automatic sliding doors, soft-touch interior trims, 64 color ambient lighting, rear climate zone, 12 speaker audio system, 9 USB ports, IRVM with rear camera feed, PM 2.5 air filter, 19-inch alloy wheels, ADAS suite, Features like electronic parking brake, TPMS, driver monitoring system, 360-degree camera with high resolution feed have been provided.

Powertrain

Talking about its powertrain, it is equipped with 245 bhp power and 350 Nm single motor with FWD architecture and 90 kWh battery. It gets NEDC certified range of up to 540 km. It can be charged from 5%-100% in 8.5 hours with an 11 kW AC charger, while 120 kW DC fast charging can charge the battery from 30%-80% in 30 minutes.

When this car is launched in India, it will compete with Toyota Fortuner, in which a diesel and a petrol engine option is available.
