New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the launch dates of the GLB and its electric version, the Mercedes-Benz EQB. Both these luxury SUV cars are to be launched in India on 2 December. It will be offered with 7 seater configuration. Let us inform that the world premiere of GLB took place about 2.5 years ago while its electric version EQS was showcased in April 2021. The EQS will be the company’s first 7 seater electric car.

Mercedes-Benz will plan to position the GLB between the GLA and the GLC. Along with being full of luxury, this car also gives the feel of a rugged SUV. It will come with compact design and boxy style. In these, third row passenger seat will also be available. It can be said that it will be a luxury competitor to SUVs like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Tata Safari. At the same time, the entry level cars of BMW and Audi will also get competition from them.

The interior layout and premium upholstery of the two (GLB and EQB) will see a lot of similarities. These include an integrated digital setup for the digital instrument cluster and a central MBUX infotainment touchscreen system. Features like ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seat with massage function and premium audio system can be given in these. A 2-litre petrol and diesel engine option can be found in the GLB. At the same time, a battery pack of 66.5kwh can be offered in the EQB.

Both can come with all-wheel-drive. The electric SUV can give a range of more than 400km on a full charge. The booking for both these SUVs of Mercedes-Benz has started. Customers can book them with a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh. The price of Mercedes-Benz GLB can start from Rs 55 lakhs while the electric version can start from Rs 65 lakhs. Both these prices are ex-showroom.
