Most automakers are working hard to make a name for themselves in the electric vehicle (EV) market as the Indian auto industry electrifies at a rapid pace. Leading German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz introduced the Mercedes-Benz EQA, its most reasonably priced electric vehicle, to the Indian market at this time. This car, which had an original cost of 66 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), had a strong battery pack and a stylish appearance.
The EQA has joined the EQB, EQE SUV, and EQS sedan in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup of electric vehicles in India. It is now the fourth-cheapest electric vehicle offered by the manufacturer in the Indian market. The cost of every other model is more than that of the EQA. The company formally opened for reservations today, with the goal of starting delivery in January 2025.
The EQA features a significant redesign compared to the GLA, particularly in its overall design and visual appeal. The front end showcases a closed EQ-style grille adorned with a star pattern, along with redesigned LED headlights and a connected light bar. At the rear, similar design elements to the EQB are evident, including the presence of a light bar. Additionally, the EQA sports newly designed alloy wheels aimed at reducing drag and enhancing aerodynamics. Overall, the EQA presents a sleek and modern appearance without being overly bold. While its design may not astonish everyone, the EQA undeniably retains the hallmark style of a true Mercedes-Benz.
Advanced Interior Technology Features
The EQA’s cabin is still reminiscent of the GLA’s, with two 10.25-inch screens and a star pattern on the dashboard and door trimmings. A 12-speaker Burmester audio system that will please audiophiles is also included, along with the second generation MBUX system that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional amenities include a head-up display that can be customised, front seat massage, and ambient lighting with 64 colours.
