Maruti Suzuki Yard Turns Into Pond: Torrential Rains Leave New Cars Submerged And Damaged

Torrential rains and poor drainage in Delhi-NCR led to severe waterlogging, submerging a stockyard full of brand-new Maruti Suzuki carsraising concerns about potential damage after being underwater for over a week.

The torrential rains have caused extensive problems for residents of Delhi and NCR. Beyond Delhi NCR, areas like Haryana, Gurugram, and Bahadurgarh have also been reeling under the pressure of waterlogging. One major consequence has been the accumulation of water in an open yard where a slew of brand-new Maruti Suzuki cars were parked. With several vehicles seen submerged in water, it appears they may have suffered extensive damage.

Excessive overnight rains, combined with poor rainwater management, further contributed to the accumulation and resulting issues. While modern cars are equipped with wiring harnesses covered in waterproof jackets, prolonged submersion can still lead to significant complications.

In all cases of vehicle submersion, it is imperative not to start the vehicle until all water has been completely dried off, as doing so could lead to irreversible damage. Whenever the vehicle is submerged under the water a sudden ignition can cause the vehicle so pull in water through intakes. Hence its considered necessary to start the vehicle only after the water has been dried off.
