New Delhi: In the hatchback segment, both the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios are rivals. Due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country, people are increasingly adopting CNG. Hence the demand for CNG models is becoming increasingly high. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai recently introduced CNG options in the Swift and the Grand i10 Nios. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in S-CNG in two variants – VXi and ZXi. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, on the other hand, is available in three variants – Magna, Sportz, and Asta. Today we will compare the two and tell which one is more powerful.
Engine
The current variant of the Maruti Suzuki Swift S CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre K-series dual jet, dual VVT engine. While in petrol mode, this engine generates 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. While in CNG mode it generates 76bhp at 6,000rpm and 98.5Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm. This engine comes with a five speed manual transmission.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG variant has a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. In its petrol mode, the engine generates 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Rather, it generates 68bhp at 6,000rpm and 95Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm in CNG mode. Its engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Features
More than one features have been given in both the vehicles. Swift CNG gets silver color on the steering wheel, electric ORVMs, rear defogger, front fog lamps, rear wiper and washer and front door armrests. Apart from this, it also gets a seven-inch SmartPlay Studio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Auto AC and engine push start-stop button.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets projector headlamps, chrome door handles, 15-inch alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, cooled glove box. Apart from this, it also gets hatchback push button start-stop, wireless charging and cooled glove box.
Price
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets CNG option in three variants. Its CNG range starts at Rs 7.16 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.45 lakh. Its starting price is Rs 7.77 Lakh for Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG.
