New Delhi: The Maruti Suzuki Jimny lifestyle off-road SUV is one of the most awaited car launches of this year. It will be launched in the first week of June 2023. Ahead of its launch, the company has revealed its features, engine specifications and mileage figures.

Powering the new 5-door Maruti Jimny is a 1.5L K15B NA petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, producing 105bhp of peak power at 6,000rpm. And generates torque of 134.2Nm at 4,000rpm. This engine is capable of delivering a mileage of 16.94 kmpl and 16.39 kmpl with manual and automatic transmission respectively. The car is equipped with Idle Start/Stop technology. The Jimny gets the brand’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system with a manual transfer case and is mated to a 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low range gearbox with three modes.
Features
The Maruti Jimny will be offered in two trims – Zeta and Alpha. Its Alpha trim will get 9-inch touchscreen Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, Arkamis sound system, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless start, LED headlamps, fog lamps, auto headlamps, alloy wheels and body colored door handles as features. It will get 6 airbags, electronic stability program, brake limited slip differential, seatbelt pretensioners, reversing camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorage as safety features.
Waiting period is long
The 5-door Maruti Jimny automatic is in high demand with a waiting period of up to 8 months. While there is a waiting period of up to 6 months for its manual variants. It is available in colors like Pearl Arctic White, Kinetic Yellow and Bluish Black. The company will produce 1 lakh units annually for both domestic and export markets. Around 7,000 units will be sold per month for the domestic market.
