New Delhi: Indo-Japanese automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Toyota is preparing to launch the re-badged model of the Toyota Innova Crysta, called the Invicto, in July. Earlier, there were reports that it would be named “Engage.” The official bookings for this three-row MPV will start on June 19, 2023. The new Maruti Invicto will be the company’s most expensive car and is believed to cater to the preferences of SUV and MPV buyers in the premium three-row segment. Like the company’s Grand Vitara, the new Maruti Invicto will also be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant.
Powertrain:
The Invicto MPV will be based on Toyota’s TNGA-C architecture. It will be available with a 2.0L strong hybrid engine producing 183bhp of power and a 2.0L petrol engine producing 173bhp of power. It will come with an e-CVT gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. This will be the company’s first automatic-only model.
Exterior Design:
In terms of dimensions, the new Maruti Invicto will be similar to the Toyota Innova Crysta, but some changes can be seen in its exterior design. From the spy images, it is evident that the model will feature a trapezoidal grille with chrome bars, a redesigned front bumper, LED DRLs, and alloy wheels.
Features:
There are no expectations of significant changes in the interior design of the new Invicto. It will come equipped with a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and ADAS technology. It will have 6 airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD, and ESP, along with three-point seat belts for all passengers. It will be offered in 7- and 8-seat configurations, with the 7-seat model featuring two captain seats in the middle row with an ottoman function, and the 8-seat model having a bench seat.
Competition:
The new Invicto MPV will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, which offers both diesel and petrol engine options. It will also feature ADAS technology.
