Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, recently said that it will increase the prices of its passenger vehicles (PVs) by up to Rs 62,000, effective from April 8. The company informed the share markets in a regulatory filing that the price hike is because of several factors, including: rising input costs, operational expenses, regulatory changes and feature additions.
“The company has planned to increase car prices starting on April 8, 2025. While the company is committed to optimise costs and reduce the impact on its customers, the company is constrained to pass on some of the increased expenses to the market,” said the company in a regulatory filing.
The company will implement a price increase on models including the Grand Vitara, Eeco, WagonR, Ertiga, XL6, Dzire Tour S, and Fronx.
Prior to this, Maruti Suzuki increased car prices by up to 4% in January 2025. Moreover, last month, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Kia India also announced that they will increase the prices of their cars in April 2025.
