New Delhi: India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, will launch new products in 2022 to attract young customers and increase its market share in the SUV segment. After launching the new generation Brezza in June 2022, Maruti is now gearing up to launch its flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara, next month. Both these SUVs are in high demand and have already seen more than 1 million cumulative bookings.
In an official statement to Express Drives, a Maruti Suzuki spokesperson confirmed that the company has so far recorded over 100,000 bookings for the new generation Grand Vitara and Brezza. Official bookings for the new Maruti Brezza started on June 20 and received more than 78,000 bookings within 45 days. It is currently priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.96 lakh, ex-showroom.
Pre-bookings for the all-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara started on July 11 and within 25 days, the mid-size SUV crossed 29,000 bookings, averaging over 1,000 units per day. It is also worth noting that around 48 percent of the Grand Vitara’s total bookings are currently done for its strong hybrid variants, while the mild hybrid variants have received 52 percent of the bookings.
The new Grand Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki‘s flagship SUV and the first powerful hybrid SUV in its portfolio. In fact, it will be only the second vehicle in its segment after the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder to get a powerful hybrid mill. The Grand Vitara will be offered with two engines in India. It will get a new 1.5 liter petrol engine with powerful hybrid technology paired with e-CVT.
