New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has launched the sub-4 meter Brezza SUV in the first week of July 2022. The compact SUV has received an overwhelming response from car buyers as it has been registering more than 100,000 bookings in the last 3-4 months.
It also regains the top spot in the best-selling SUV list by beating the likes of Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. In order to further improve sales, the company is now planning to launch the CNG version of Maruti Brezza.
Maruti Brezza CNG SUV Automatic
The Maruti Brezza will be the first SUV in India to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit. MSIL has not revealed any information about the Brezza CNG; however, leaks reveal that the price reveal could happen in the next few months. The CNG version will be offered in all 4 trim levels – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. It also shows that the Brezza could be the first CNG model with an automatic transmission.
Technical details are yet to be revealed; however, we believe the Brezza CNG will share mechanicals with the Ertiga CNG. It will be powered by the same 1.5 liter K15C DualJet petrol engine with a factory fitted CNG kit. This engine produces 87bhp and 122Nm of torque, a significant drop from the regular petrol Brezza. The Ertiga CNG has an ARAI certified fuel consumption of 26.08 km/kg.
Maruti Brezza CNG SUV Price
The Maruti Brezza petrol manual ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.30 lakh. The CNG version should cost about 90,000 more than the corresponding variant. On the other hand, the Brezza petrol automatic costs between Rs 10.97 lakh and Rs 13.80 lakh. It is expected that the Brezza CNG could cost around Rs 8.90 lakh to Rs 14.70 lakh.
Not only the Brezza, the new Baleno and Alto K10 will also get a factory-fitted CNG kit. New models are likely to be launched in the coming months. The Alto K10 CNG is expected to share an engine with the CNG Celerio, which has a 1.0L Dualjet petrol engine with factory-fitted CNG. This version makes 56.7 PS of power and 82 Nm of torque and is said to return a fuel economy of 35.6 km/kg.
