Mahindra XUV700 EV Spotted Testing – New Design Elements Revealed

The vehicle was camouflaged from front to rear. The test mule spotted this time around was probably the EV version of the XUV700. Since the front fascia of the car was completely different than that of the test mule that was spotted a few days back.

The XUV700 has been a significant vehicle for Mahindra, helping the brand foray into the D-segment SUV space. The SUV has been ahead of its time and stands as an exemplar of Mahindra’s focus on innovation. Now, the brand is on the verge of updating the SUV for the first time since its launch.

While no concrete timeline has been revealed for the facelift’s launch, close-up spy shots give us a glimpse into the design details of this upcoming D-segment SUV.

Here’s What the Test Mule Revealed

The vehicle was camouflaged from front to rear. The test mule spotted this time around was probably the EV version of the XUV700. Since the front fascia of the car was completely different than that of the test mule that was spotted a few days back. It was not similar to the existing XUV 700 in any manner; rather, it had LED daytime running lights that shrouded the bonnet line.

With this facelift, Mahindra is expected to update a slew of features within teh vehicle, the Sony audio system with a Harman Kardon setup, likely featuring 16 speakers and a 1400W peak output, will also get updated. The SUV also appears to share its new steering wheel with the XEV 9e and will finally gain an auto-dimming IRVM. In addition, it may feature an upgraded ADAS Level 2+ suite, complete with self-parking capabilities.

Mahindra is likely to retain the same 2.0L turbo-petrol and 2.2L turbo-diesel engine options as the current model, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Optional AWD and a choice of two-row or three-row seating layouts may also be offered.

The XUV700 facelift will continue to compete with rivals such as the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, MG Hector, and Hector Plus.
