New Delhi: India is going to host the fourth of the ninth season of Formula E World Championship. The event is a motorsport event for open-wheel electric cars. This event is being organized in Hyderabad this year. To celebrate the Formula E race, the Formula version of the XUV400 has been showcased along with the new Gen3 Formula E race car.
How is the racing variant?
The Formula Edition of the Mahindra XUV400 has been designed with a special exterior look, which is inspired by the racing spirit. The Mahindra Formula E as a new race car has been designed and developed in collaboration with the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) studio. The formula version of the car gets a mix of bronze and red finish with ‘Mahindra’ branding on the hood and sides. The brand’s Formula E name ‘Mahindra Racing’ is visible on the C-pillar. The alloy wheels are given with copper accents.

Booking has started
Mahindra has opened the bookings for the XUV 400 EV from 26 January. The SUV has received over 10,000 bookings in just 4 days. There is a waiting period of about 6 months for this Mahindra SUV. The XUV400 EV is available in two trims namely EC and EL. The ex-showroom price of this car is between Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh.
How is the powertrain?
Mahindra XUV 400 EV is available with two battery packs, in which 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs are available. It offers a certified range of 375 km and 456 km respectively. In this, the front-axle mounted electric motor generates 150 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. This car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds. It can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in less than 50 minutes with the help of a 50kW DC fast charger.

Tata Nexon EV competes?
This car competes with Tata Nexon EV. In which an electric motor generating power of 141.1 bhp is available. This car is capable of giving a range of 456 km per charge.
