Home-grown auto major Mahindra and Mahindra is gearing up to expand its range of electric vehicles with the launch of the upcoming XUV.e8, which is an electric variant of the brand’s popular XUV700. This new model has already been unveiled in concept avatar and the company is actively testing its prototypes. Recently, Mahindra filed several design patents covering the exterior and interior aspects of the XUV.e8.
Mahindra XUV.e8: How Will It Look Like?
A report by HT Auto suggests that design patents show that the XUV.e8 is very similar to the previously revealed concept version.
Key features include a new inverted L-shaped LED headlight assembly and a distinctive LED light bar that extends across the entire front of the vehicle. The front bumpers are redesigned, omitting the traditional grille as there is no internal combustion engine.

The side profile of the XUV.e8 reportedly features aerodynamic wheel covers designed to improve airflow efficiency. The electric vehicle will retain the concept’s flush-fitting door handles.
Changes are minimal at the rear with a fresh bumper design and an LED light bar. However, expect the taillights to remain unchanged. Copper accents similar to the ones found on the XUV400 will also be seen on the XUV.e8.
Mahindra XUV.e8: Interior
Mahindra’s design patents also revealed interior details, including a new two-spoke steering wheel. This hexagonal steering wheel gets a red stripe across the top and features four toggle switches to navigate the infotainment system and instrument panel. The illuminated Mahindra logo on the steering wheel is an innovative aspect, and it is a trend we have seen on Tata vehicles.
Another major interior update is the redesigned dashboard, which features a three-screen layout reminiscent of luxury car interiors. This includes an infotainment screen, an instrument cluster, and an additional passenger display.
The XUV.e8 promises to be a notable addition to Mahindra’s EV lineup with these design elements and technological improvements.
