New Delhi: As per recent updates, Mahindra has been working on increasing its production capacity to reduce the waiting period for its models, including the XUV 700 and Scorpio-N. Previously, both SUVs had a waiting period of over a year based on variants and city. However, a new media report claims that the waiting period for the Mahindra XUV 700 and Scorpio-N has been reduced by 3 to 4 months.

The waiting period for the Mahindra Scorpio-N:
The company’s most demanding car, Scorpio-N, has a waiting period of 6-7 months for the Z2 petrol variant and 7-8 months for the diesel variant. Meanwhile, the Z4 and Z6 trims have a waiting period of up to 12 months. The Z8L AT petrol variant has a waiting period of 3 months, the Z8L AT diesel variant has a waiting period of 8 months, and the highest-selling Z8 trim has a waiting period of 13 months.

The top-spec Z8L MT petrol and diesel variants are available with waiting periods of 7-8 months and 10-12 months, respectively. In recent times, the waiting period for almost all variants has been reduced to 3-4 months. Previously, the Z8 trim had a waiting period of 22-25 months in November.

The waiting period for the Mahindra XUV 700:
The base models of the Mahindra XUV 700, MX and AX3 petrol and diesel variants, have a waiting period of 4 months, while the AX5 trim has a waiting period of 6 months. The AX7 trim has a waiting period of 8 months, and the top-spec AX7L trim has a waiting period of 9 months.

According to the media report, the waiting period for the top-spec AX7L trim has reduced by 6 months compared to November last year, while there has been an increase of around 2 months in the waiting period for the entry-level MX and AX3 petrol variants. However, the waiting period for its diesel models has decreased by approximately six months. The company aims to produce around 10,000 units of the XUV 700 per month by March 2024, while currently the production is around 6,000 units.

Comparison with Tata Safari:
The Mahindra XUV 700 competes with the Tata Safari, which also offers a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine as the only option.
