Mahindra has officially unveiled its latest battery electric vehicles, the Mahindra BE 6e and the Mahindra XEV 9e on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. This is the first ever electric SUV by the carmaker. Built on Mahindra’s innovative INGLO platform, designed exclusively for electric vehicles, these two new SUVs are slated for launch in early 2025. The BE 6e boasts a sportier coupe design, blending sleekness with Mahindra’s signature ruggedness, while the XEV 9e embodies a quintessential SUV aesthetic, dubbed by Mahindra as an “SUV coupe”.

Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e: Key Features And Specifications
- The BE 6e features a dual-screen layout comprising two 12.3-inch displays, whereas the XEV 9e boasts a more extensive triple-screen setup, utilizing three 12.3-inch screens. Additional features include a sleek two-spoke steering wheel, a spacious panoramic glass roof, advanced safety features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and a 360-degree camera system.
- These vehicles will be offered with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, featuring lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry and standardized cell-to-pack technology. This configuration delivers a power output of 170-210 kW (228-282 hp) for rear-wheel drive variants, with the possibility of all-wheel drive options being introduced in future models.
Additionally, the vehicle supports fast charging, enabling a rapid recharge from 20% to 80% in a mere 20 minutes when using a 175 kW DC charger.
Rivals and Pricing
The Mahindra BE 6e is poised to rival other prominent electric vehicles in its class, including the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
The Mahindra XEV 9e is expected to be a direct competitor to the forthcoming Tata Harrier EV.
Mahindra BE 6e is priced at an around Rs 18.90 lakh, while the Mahindra XEV 9e is comes at a starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). These are the prices for the pack one, rest will be announced after the launch.
