A recent reel that has been doing rounds over the internet has shaken and stirred the angst of every car enthusiast in India. The Reel gives a sneak peek of the test mule that looks something like that of the Mahindra Global Pickup. As seen in the reel the vehicle seems to be based on the Scorpio N platform. As per a story by Zigwheels the vehicle was quite similar to that of the concept showcased at teh2023 concept shown in South Africa by Mahindra.
Whether Mahindra plans the vehicle to be a commercial goods carrier or a life style vehicle such as the Hilux is still a mystery. But the outing of the vehicle as a commercial vehicle can be detrimental to the sales of the Scorpio N that has been selling quite well in India. Any association with a vehicle that hoards loads as a commercial vehicle can lead into a sales jeopardy. The Vehicle can possibly be launched sometime in 2026.
Single Cab Conundrum?
The vehicle that is seen in the video is a single cab version of the pickup, single cabs are generally not the go to choice for lifestyle users. And since its launch can be detrimental to the Scorpio Brand its possible that the vehicle might be being tested for launch in international markets.
The vehicle has the same design as that of the Scorpio N but is noticeably longer. The vehicle has a blacked out grill and the new twin peas logo from Mahindra.
Performance Specs
The Mahindra Scorpio N is being powered by a mhawk 2.2 litre diesel engine paired with a 6 speed manual transmission and a torque converter automatic in the higher variants. If the pick up is launched for the commercial market its possible that it might be fitted with a new diesel engine.
Expected Prices and Launch
Mahindra has not confirmed any details about the launch of such a vehicle, but its possible that along with a commercial version Mahindra might also launch a life style version of the same model. Its possible that the car might be priced upwards of Rs 25 lakh which would pitch it against the likes of Isuzu V cross as well as the Toyota Hilux.
