Another instance of a Ferrari f40 crashing into the guard rails in Monaco surfaces online, although this one happened a few days ago. Apparently the car belonged to Lando Norris and was being momentarily driven by someone else when the crash happened.
The damage to the priced possession of Lando Norris was spotted by fans early in January, but the recent video explains what went through that caused such a damage.
As per reports over the internet, Lando Norris had purchased an F40 that was valued over $2.5 million.
Images and videos of the racer in his Ferrari F40 were shared online a few times. The photos showcased Norris out and about doing his Christmas shopping in his Ferrari f40.
The price tag of the car is justified as only 1,311 were ever built between 1987-1992. When the onlookers saw the vehicle it had left rear bumper damage. The video that has surfaced online showcases what might have gone through that resulted in such a damage to the vehicle.
The car was not being driven by Lando when the crash occurred. The car was being driven around on Mountainous roads around Monaco. The driver seemingly looses control of the F40 while driving on a straight road the car does a 360 degree spin and ends up in the guard rail by the boundary of the road.
The damage that appears on the car was quite similar to that seen on Norris’s car. While the damage might appear superficial, the rare nature of the car makes it to be very costly to repair.
The F40 is known for being temperamental in its drive, the fact that the car has twin turbos often make the breakover limit of the turbos pretty aggressive. This can lead the vehicle to often loose traction as was seen in the video.
How Much Can The Repair Cost Lando Norris.
In a recent few days a couple of reports of the F40 crashing have surfaced online. On 17th jan another Ferrari f40 that allegedly had the highest mileage crashed in near A5 near Markyte in United Kingodm. As per reports the car was crashed by a service technician. The service technician reportedly lost control of the vehicle and ended up crashing the vehicle and turning it over. As we have alluded before the big turbo’s on the car make it quite hard to handle and the sudden charge of the turbo chargers can often cause the vehicle to spin out and crash.
Expected Prices Norris would have to Pay
In the past there have been several issues regarding such crashes, one of the most prominent crash was the accident of Rowan Atkinson’s Mclaren F1. Rowan Atkinson was one of the first famous celebrities who bought a Mclaren F1 , other notable owners include Jay leno , Elon Musk and Lewis Hamilton. The Mr-Bean star ended up crashing his F1 twice in the 17 years of ownership. He crashed it first in 1999 , in this scenario Rowan rear ended another vehicle and the hood of his F1 got damaged.
12 years later the actor again lost control of the car and spun it smashing the multi millionaire McLaren into a tree and road sign. The overall resurrection of the vehicle took about USD 1.4 million in 2013. This was the highest Insurance Payout in the history in Britain, and became the subject matter of headlines for a few years. Comparing to the damage that Atkinson had on his vehicle the damage to Norris’s car is pretty minimal and cosmetic. Hence its possible that his insurance payout might be lesser than that of Rowan atkinson But still its going to cost a few $$$$$ to fix.
