KTM has been shedding the unladen weight that has been weighing its survival amid financial tribulations. The discontinuation of Duke 125 as well as RC 125 could have been done for similar reasons as well. But even after its dis-continuation, it’s possible that you might be able to get an Rc125 or Duke 125 through dealers who have stocked them. Competing against the likes of the Yamaha R15 does the Duke 125 or RC125 make more sense.
KTM Duke And RC 125
Both the bikes in the range were powered by a 124 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine. The new 125 cc engine is able to produce14.7 BHP with 11 NM of torque paired with that of a 6 speed gearbox. The RC guise of the bike must have been tuned a little differently and it reached it power band much higher in the rev range. If you are someone who has been planning to buy the R15, the RC 125 could have been a better possible choice for you.
Yamaha R15
The Yamaha R15 was powered by a 155 cc single cylinder engine with a liquid-cooled apparatus. The engine could churn out 18.1 bhp @ 10,000 RPM and 14.2 Nm @7500 Rpm. The Bike has dual-channel ABS with 2 piston calipers on 282 mm rims up front. The Bike would have Upside down front forks, with a linked Type Monocross suspension.

Although the KTM RC 125 was underpowered and a lot more expensive it could have been a perfect Beginner Bike for Users who seek to gradually rise up to bigger bikes. But the underpowered engine and premium price tag led the vehicle to its discontinuation.
