Gone are the days when Kinetic used to be the go to choice for riders seeking gearless scooters for easy mobility. The Kinetic scooter was spawned out of a joint venture between Kinetic Engineering limited and Honda Motor Company. The Joint venture commenced in 1984 and ended in 1998. The scooter was powered by a 2 stroke 98cc engine that was capable of delivering close to 7.7 hp @ 5600 rpm and a max torque figure of 1.0 KGm @ 5000 rpm. At that time kinetic scooter assured a mileage of 40 kmpl.
While the days of yore are gone by, it seems that Kinetic is planning a comeback and planning to launch the long gone 2 stroke scooter as an EV. Kinetic’s comeback in the EV domain would be furthered by Kinetic Green and Kinetic Watts and Volts , the former brand already sells two wheelers namely the E-Zulu, Zing and E Luna.
The latter Kinetic Watts has just patented a new electric scooter, shocking the industry about a possible relaunch of the scooter as an EV.

New Kinetic Electric Scooter Patented
New patent documents have revealed that the brand might be planning to re launch the old kinetic two stroke scooter in a new EV avatar. The EV scooter would lock horns with the likes of Hero, Ather, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chteak and Ola S1 Range. Keeping the same old design the brand might be planning to evoke the nostalgia factor and also peddle its all new EV creation with ease.
The Design inspiration has been carried over from Kinetic Honda ZX which was a successful scooter in India. The brand would retain the overall silhouette of the scooter. The angular headlight that spreads across the handle further makes the scooter seem dated. The Patent documents have further revealed that the ORVM would be squarish and the floor boards would be spacious and accommodating.
What To Expect
Kinetic has been planning to capture the market yet again with their offerings and to accommodate the expansive production spree, the brand has recently set up a manufacturing unit in Ahilya Nagar Maharashtra. Their scooter would target the mainstream electric scooter segment that has been witnessing substantial growth in India.
