KIA recently organized its jubilant EV day recently, As a significant part of its commitment the brand has been planning to be in new innovative EV’s in the market. The new concepts that were showcased included PV5, EV2 concept as well as the new EV4 at its recent event in Tarragona Spain on Thursday. Kia has showcased a total of 9 new EV models at the recent event.
KIA has reported that they chose Spain as a location because they consider it to be of strategic importance for all of their Electrification Efforts. The EV day showcased new vehicles that have been specifically produced for Korean and European Markets. These markets account for 34 % of its global EV sales.
The New EV Day and EV concepts are being showcased at a time when the Global EV sales slowdown has become a worry for most manufacturers. But KIA seems to be unfettered by such issues as it has been planning to further expand its EV lineup in the future.
Cars Introduced By KIA
In the recent Event Kia showcased a slew of new EV cars These Included the new Pv5- The first production model on the same platform would be the Beyond Vehicle Strategy. Over All, four variants of the new Pv5 were showcased these included the Pv5 Cargo, Pv5 Passenger, Pv5 Wheel Chair Access vehicle as well as the PV5 Crew vehicle.
The Pv5 was showcased as a concept at the 2024 consumer electrics show in Las Vegas. Beyond the pv5 Kia also revealed a new EV2 which would be a B-segment SUV.
EV4 is KIA’s first electrified saloon and hatchback that the brand has planned to launch in the US market. The car would be launched in4 variants – Two Four Day saloons and Two Five Door Variants as well. KIA has been working on introducing a new Carens and probably a new Syros in the future. New EV’s like that of the Pv5 and Ev4 might not make it into India yet.
