New Delhi: Kia, a South Korean automaker, has issued a large-scale recall in India for its MPV Caren. The recall was issued between September 2022 and February 2023, covering a total of 30,297 units. The company will address the issues in the digital instrument cluster of these vehicles through software updates.

Need for Software Updates
According to information provided by the company, the recall was necessary to resolve any inconvenience caused to customers during the booting process of the digital instrument cluster. Some units were experiencing a black screen issue, which will be rectified through software updates.

Ensuring Delivery to Vehicle Owners
The car manufacturer will contact the owners of these MPVs and advise them to visit nearby service centers for inspection. If any issues are found in their cars, they will be fixed through software updates.

Second Recall for this Car
This is the second time that the company has issued a recall for this particular car. It was initially launched in February 2022, and by October, 40,000 units had been recalled due to a malfunction in the airbag control system. This issue was resolved through software updates.

In the Indian market, the Kia Caren is priced between 10.45 lakh rupees and 18.90 lakh rupees. It is the third best-selling car by the company in India.

The Kia Caren can be purchased in India with options for 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The car is offered with one diesel engine and two petrol engines. The 1493cc diesel engine delivers 112.8hp of power and 250Nm of torque, while the 1482cc petrol engine generates 155.6hp of power and 253Nm of torque.
