In a recent news update Kia has announced that it would hike up the prices by 3% across all its models from April 1-2025. Just like other manufacturers who raised the prices of their cars recently KIA has cited the rising prices of components necessary for manufacturing as the reason behind the price rise.
The company has further reported that the significant part of the brunt would still be absorbed by them to keep the prices of their vehicles reasonable even after the increased costs. KIA has not been the only manufacturer that has raised the prices of their vehicles recently.
Over All Price Changes
There were suspicions that the manufacturer would raise the prices since Maruti Suzuki and Tata had already announced that it would raise the prices from the next month. Suzuki had shared plans to raise the prices by 4% overall. Car Manufacturers world over have been caught in a whirlwind of either going along with EV manufacturing or choosing to facelift their existing ICE models.
Beyond that the Indian manufacturers have been hit with strict safety changes such as necessity of 6 airbags for all car models under sale. This has already raised the prices of the cars, and beyond that the new changes would further change the prices as well. It would be fair to say that its possible other manufacturers might soon follow up to raise the prices as well.
KIA has been able to sell 1.45 million units in India and overseas market combined to date. The car makes has been able to sell 6.9 lakh units of Seltos, 5 lakh Units of the Sonet, and 2.32 lakh units of Carens.
